Faith Robertson from New Jersey, USA celebrates Women in Trade Day (Worldwide) holding her wood sinew puller.

Faith is a clothing artist. Finding inspiration from the love of crystals and geodes. She’s also a licensed Skydiver.

WITD: Briefly tell us about your tool, how important it is. Why and when you use it?

Faith: The tool I am holding to celebrate this amazing day is a wood sinew puller that holds my sinew. It’s a combination of artificial sinew, which is made from waxed polypropylene. I use it as a leverage to pull the sinew tight enough around the fabric that I wrap with it to create a border where the dye can't penetrate due to the wax and tension of the sinew blocking penetration of the dye where it lays so when everything is processed and rinsed,  you have these lines as an end result.

Since I do a lot of geode effects,  this is a staple for me. It can also be used in other folding techniques where you want line detail. Because pulling the sinew requires a good amount of strength,  I have felt much stronger in my upper body which helps alot as a Massage Therapist, it gives me a form of upper body focus to keep my muscle strong.

WITD: Briefly tell us why Women in Trade Day (Worldwide) is important to you?

Faith: Women in Trade Day (Worldwide) on June 15th is important to me because as a female, we can be underestimated by others when it comes to our strengths and we need to remind the world that we are a force to be reckoned with!

WITD: How will you be celebrating the day?

Faith: With my other hobby as a licensed Skydiver by jumping out of a plane.

WITD: How are you inspiring other women?

Faith: I  inspire others by being myself!! For the longest time, I closed off my emotions and was afraid to speak up. Now, I  break into a dance at a supermarket, give strangers compliments, and most importantly,  being my unapologetic self!
