Our mission, vision, and values

“In many countries around the world, women still face significant challenges to achieve their goals.”

We aspire to be the leading annual global event celebrating every woman who works with a tool. Just like a dancer’s shoes are her tool, it could be anything from a pencil, camera, hammer, brush, drum stick or needle. We want to raise awareness of all trades seeking to overcome the continuous barriers we face and remove those blocks. We should feel welcomed in society, no matter the tool.

Women in Trade Day (Worldwide) focuses on celebrating all our achievements and moving on from the past. Albeit a fun day, we want to show our support for the women who still struggle.

Our mission is to promote women who work behind the scenes, solve problems, and build safe places for us to live in. We also strive to empower young girls wanting to take up a trade that would normally be considered a boy’s trade. We want to recognise how far women have come. A lot of positive things have transpired since women were given platforms like these to take a stand and speak up without fear. We still have a long way to go but are nowhere near where we were before.

We take equality seriously because we can create and build wonderful things in this world together, whether we are male or female. We may contribute in diverse ways, but in the end, there is so much value in that.
